Halloween Costume Idea #10

[costume idea #9]

Last Minute Edition: Joel Goodsen (in Risky Business)

Every guy has these items in their closet (and ladies, if you want to dress up as this also, I'm sure you can raid your dad's, brother's, or boyfriend's closet). So since it's last minute, I think this would be an easy Halloween costume I think everyone could appreciate. lol

What You'll Need:
- Long Sleeve White Collared Shirt
- White Socks
- White Boxers or Breifs
- Ray Bay Wayfarer or sunglasses looking similar to that
- Candle Holder (optional)

Lakers Ring Ceremony

LAKERS BAYYYBEEE!!!

Last night's ring ceremony and unveiling of the banner for the 2010 NBA Chapions gave me chills. It was nice being able to watch the team receive their rings for their 16th championship title. The ceremony also reminded me of last years' basketball season and how i wasn't too fond of Artest to how i grew to like that guy. I was also reminded of all the Laker BBQs i went to and all the fun i had last season. Watching the unveiling of the banner was real cool too. Last nights events and the win they took is setting up the Lakers season to be just right.

If you missed the ring ceremony and the unveiling of the banner, here it is:

Lakers: 1-0

"To start the season, you wanna start on a positive note."

Good way to put it Blake. To see the rest of what Steve Blake had to say after the game click here.

The first game against the Houston Rockets was a fckin' nail-biter, to say the least! For the most part the Rockets were in the lead, as much as 15 points during the game. Pau Gasol held the most points in last night's game with 29 points. Brown flooded the court with threes in the 4th quarter and Blake is making me eat my words saying he's "aiiight" haha Blake shot the last three oh-so-cleeeannn! Giving the Lakers a two point lead that gave us our Win for last night's game. Lakers starting it off right, 1-0! Thank you God for basketball season! :)

Kanye West - "Runaway" (Full Length)

I can't stand Kanye for the life of me, but the a$$hole exudes talent with anything that deals with music and visuals (except for the "Best I Ever Had" video). The concept of this film is bonkers (yes, i said bonkers haha) The music, by Yeezy, used in every scene seemed to tie together with the film so well. From "...toasting to the douchebags..." at the dinner scene or wanting to see "...all of the lights..." during the fireworks scene. Check out his latest masterpiece, "Runaway".

Convinced Freestyle

Convinced does a freestyle while on the set of his video shoot "Miss Memory".

Lakers 2010-2011

Basketball season starts tomorrow!

You know damn well who I'll be rooting for this year... and the year after that... and the year after that... and... You get the picture :) Forget preseason ball, the official season starts tomorrow with Miami vs. Boston at 7pm EST... BUT for me, as well as other Lakers fans, it officially starts at 7:30 OUR time when our boys in purple and gold play against the Houston Rockets. The Lakers will be playing the 2010-2011 season with five new players: Ratliff coming from the Bobcats, Devin Ebanks coming from West Virginia University (43rd pick in the 2010 NBA Draft), Derrick Caracter was the 58th overall pick by the Lakers in the 2010 draft as well, Steve Blake coming from the Clippers, and Matt Barnes coming from Magic. I haven't caught too much of preseason ball, but from the Lakers preseason ball that I have seen, Blake is aiiight. Hoping him and Ebanks prove a bit more why they're on a championship team. As for Barnes, just another Artest to me. You hated him, but once you found out he was gonna be on our team, couldn't be any happier. The dynamics of this team could be really good for L.A. and another possible championship win could be possible... or am i just doing some wishful thinking? Then again there are so many damn injuries on this team who knows how this season's gonna play out haha I'm happy to see the returning players back on for another year, BUT i could go without seeing Walton on the team... just saying :) Basketball season will be here and i can't wait!

r.i.p. Gregory Issacs

I wasn't an avid listener of Greg Issacs, but I do remember my cousin playing this one song by him when I was YOUNGER. He would play it for one of his "lady friends"... Did my cousin end up getting with the girl? Yea, for a few months haha I'd like to think it was 'cuz of this song...

Wiz Khalifa on Hard Knock TV

Here's my fave tatted up black boy on Hard Knock TV talking about being compared to Snoop. As well as talking about Diddy and possibly working with Rick Ross. He also mentions making more music and how we can expect an album some time early next year. Check it:

25th Anniversary of Back To The Future

Back To The Future will be celebrating it's 25th anniversary in just about a week. Back to the Future and Back to the Future II have got to be some of my favorite movies, as for part III... ehhh. But other than that, I've been watching that movie ever since i can remember. I remember watching the movie when I was younger thinking "I can't wait until 2015! We'll ride cool hoverboards!" Well, it's already 2010, I don't think we'll see kids rollin' down the street in hoverboards yet. But we may just see the kicks he sported in the 2nd installment of Back to the Future. Those self-lacing shoes may appear quicker than those hoverboards. And whenever I pass by Puente Hills Mall, whoever I'm in the car with will ALWAYS hear "this is where they shot part of Back to the Future, you know Twin Pine Mall!?" Movie was dope! Plus Marty McFly was def a cute white boy to look at when I was a little girl :)

BUT did you know that Michael J. Fox, the Family Ties cutie, was NOT the original choice for the Marty McFly character?!? Yeah, I was surprised when I found out. They originally had Eric Stoltz play the character. He's been in a few t.v. shows such as St. Elsewhere (back in the 80s) and Grey's Anatomy. He's been in a number of movies like Pulp Fiction, Jerry Mcguire, The Honeymooners, and Mask, where he played a kid with one fcked up face! GOOGLE it! But back to Back to the Future... Eric Stoltz was set to play Marty and even began filming, but a few weeks into production, film executives had a change of heart and decided to bring in Michael J. Fox into the film. Check this quick video out:

After 25 years, I still can catch this movie on t.v. And the weird thing is I'll catch my younger nieces and nephews watching it around the same time I first started watching the trilogy. Helping to celebrate 25 years, they'll be releasing a special DVD and Blu Ray on October 26. Grab yourself a copy, i just might :)

Can You Stand The Rain?

I can't... Can you? Here's a lil New Edition for the gloomy rainy days we've been having. My cousin "inspired" me to listen to this song haha

H.O.P.E x L.A. Leakers - Sincere The NaSTape

ABOUT DAMN TIME H.O.P.E! :)
Here's H.O.P.E giving us his long awaited mixtape, hosted by The Los Angeles Leakers, Sincere (The NaStape). It has H.O.P.E. going over his favorite NaS tracks, with features from Diz Gibran, Chase-N-Ca$he (Surf Club), Kent Jamz (OverDoz), and CurTa!n$. Below is the tracklist. It's been a minute since H.O.P.E. has given us a project to listen to. He gave us Follow The Leader in early 2009, so this NaSTape is LONG overdue! I had "Love Lotus" in heavy rotation when I first got Follow The Leader. Now it's time for me to figure out which song is my fave off this tape. I know most of us have been waiting for him to drop this tape for a while, now it's finally here.

Jughead Comic Edition: Archie & Veronica

I'm too busy to actually make you a homemade one, so here are the links to Archie & Veronica if you want to be it for Halloween. (click ont heir names)

Sream 4 Trailer

I'm sort of excited to see it, but not at the same time. I think I won't be able to get past the fact that Courtney Cox and David Arquette are separated and the movie is the reason why they met, fell in love, & got married :( lol.. Also, I feel like I see too many new, familiar faces (i.e. Kristen Bell, Hayden Panettiere, Lucy Hale, etc.) that it almost looks like it's a spoof now. BUT I do give credit to the originals that are still alive that agreed to do this 4th installment. Anyway, it seems like I have too much to say about this. Watch the trailer and see if it interests you to watch it when it comes out in theaters.

Nottz & Asher Roth feat. Colin Munroe– Dontcha Wanna Be (My Neighbor)

Nottz and Asher Roth take it back to their hometowns for the video to their song, "Dontcha Wanna Be (My Neighbor)". Expect some feel good, home-y vibe in the video and a little tribute to Mr. Rogers from Mr. Roth.. The video goes great with the song, so take a look at it and spread the joy around during this gloomy LA weather (;

Willow Smith - Whip My Hair (Video)

Willow Smith brings visuals to her first single, "Whip My Hair". Can I just say WOW?!? This girl is CRAAAZZZZYYYY! She definitely shows what she has to offer in this industry through this video. I am impressed.

to each his own...

Apparently Kanye's cover for his upcoming album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, will be banned in the U.S. ^^ Take a look at the cover, what do yooou think? Sh!t's kinda ugly/nasty, in my opinion, BUT it is his music/creativity he's putting out there. He made a good point in one of his tweets...

"In all honesty ... I really don't be thinking about Wal-Mart when I make my
music or album covers #Kanyeshrug!"

I totally see where he's getting at. (BTW, does he really need to put Kanye in front of "shrug", since he IS Kanye? just a thought). When an artist is focused on making great music and visuals for everyone to enjoy, the last thing on an artist's mind is whether or not it's politically correct to have something labeled as "obscene" stop him from putting out what he wants. On Yeezy's little rant on twitter he mentioned Nirvana having nudity on their album covers, as well as album covers from the 70's...

"In the 70s album covers had actual nudity... It's so funny
that people forget that... Everything has been so commercialized now."

So I checked some album covers from the 70's out. Here are a few that I found...

Here's a comedy album from the 70's from a man named Rudy Ray Moore. He had a few more raunchy covers out during that time.

A rock band by the name of, Scorpions, dropped this album cover in 1979.

And in 1977, an R&B, Funk band used this album cover for an album entitled, Angel.

Overall, the saying "...to each his own..." is very true. One person may find something very creavity and interesting, while another finds the same thing looking like sh!t. Personally, I feel that everyone should be able to put what they want out there. Whether it's Yeezy wanting to put out that album cover OR me posting this on my blog as well as any other post. As an audience, we all have the choice to look at it or not.

Fun Facts About Boobs

We all know it's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so why not know some fun facts about those funbags that hang in your thoracic area?

1. The average breast size in America is a 36C. 15 years ago it was a 34B. [source]
2. An A-cup clocks in at only a quarter pound; a B, about half a pound; a C, three-quarters of a pound; and a D, around one pound. [source]
3. The breasts swell up and get erect when aroused--just like the penis! When erect, the average nipple is slightly taller than 5 stacked quarters. [source]
4. No two breasts are exactly the same size, and it is usually your left breast that is bigger than the right side. [source]
5. Each pair has its own point. Not only do nipples come in varying sizes, they also point in different directions.[source]
6. Men do develop breast cancer, mostly those who are between the ages of 60 and 70. Risk factors include aging, exposure to radiation, a family history of the disease, heavy alcohol intake, obesity, lack of exercise, high estrogen levels, and those who work in hot environments. [source]
7. It's legal for women to walk around showing off their breasts in Hawaii, Texas, Ohio, New York and Maine--though they can still be picked up on public nuisance laws. [source]
8. Cleavage is not determined by breast size. 2 women with same cup size may not have the same cleavage. Woman’s breasts that are fuller in the middle will have greater cleavage. Woman with only an A or B cup but with her breasts naturally set close together, can have nice cleavage too. In addition, if your body is narrow below your shoulders, you’ll have an easier time creating a deeper valley between your 2 peaks [source]
9. A girl's breasts start growing on average at age 10, and reach their complete size by age 20. [source]
10. Breast Milk is sweeter, has more vitamin E, more iron, less sodium, and more essential fatty acids than Cow's Milk. [source]
11. Men can lactate too.
It's exceptionally rare, but since men possess mammary glands just like women do, they have the capacity to produce milk. When male lactation happens, it's usually because of hormonal treatments for diseases like cancer. [source]
12. Smokers will have saggier boobs than non-smokers, because the chemicals in cigarettes break down the body's elastin. [source]

Help find a cure for breast cancer by donating money here. Also, you can help by buying some things like eyeshadow, eyelash curlers, tweezers, compact mirrors, etc. Check this and this out for more information.

Also, if you have a twitter, every time you tweet #BeatCancer, PayPal will donate $0.05. It may not seem like a lot, but spreading the news around and encouraging your other tweeters to tweet it will definitely make some help to finding a cure.

This past weekend Bruno Mars was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live. He was looking quite dapper with his "Doo-Wop" inspired suit, hair, and classic oxfords *swoons* (he also kinda looked like Ritchie Valens). Above is his performance of his latest single "Grenade".

I'd post "Just The Way You Are", but the embedded code is being stupid right now so you can find his performance on Mando Fresko's website.

Drake Speaks & 9th Wonder

We all know Drake's right-hand man would be 40 when it comes to producing, but here's Drake talking about working with 9th Wonder. He's used one of 9th's beats back on his Comeback Season mixtape, a song called "Think Good Thoughts". Towards the end of the song, Drake completely stops it and admits to not having paid 9th for the beat yet. I'm sure ya'll know what I'm talking about. Maybe don't take a shower for a couple days prior to wearing this costume to get that nasty greasy look if you have hair on that pretty little head of yours ;) Also, don't shave. Keep your face scruffy. Also, maybe cute some holes in your pants (like a big ass hole in the knees) and tie a flannel around your waist. It's all your imagination.

Drake - I Get Lonely Too (produced by 40)

*Deep breath* Aaahhhh... Ohh Drake, let's not try so hard boo boo.
Keep with ATF, and give us something FRESH. Here's Drake giving us a track off of his upcoming R&B mixtape. Let's all hope that the whole mixtape doesn't sound like this. This song is def on his, as my friend would say, "dreamy" sh!t. shout to you @SvperbEsque lol Take a listen and see how you feel about this song. With the short while it's been out, from what I've been talking to people about..... mixed feelings.

Listen to "I Get Lonely Too"

Trey Songz - Can't Be Friends

"And I wish we never did it
and I wish we never loved it
and I wish I never fell so deep in love with you
and now it ain't no way we can be friends"

DA-DA-DA-DA-DAMNNN!!! I LOVE this song! BUT sad to say, i don't like the video =( To be honest, I haven't given his album Passion, Pain, Pleasure a chance. Sure, I've heard "Bottoms Up", but that sh!t didn't convince me to grab a hold of his album, BUT after listening to this track I just might. I really like this song. Talkin' about how he can't even be friends with a certain someone anymore, then saying he wishes certain things never happened even though it felt so damn good... *Sighhh* :-/ Aint that the damn truth in people's lives at one time or another? Take a look at the video:

H.O.P.E & Skeme - Appalled

Bravo to these two muthasuckaz for straight killin' this track. They took the beat from Kanye's "So Appalled" track and did their thing! Hopefully this is somewhat of a preview of what we can expect to hear on mixtapes comin' from H.O.P.E & Skeme.

fabric - Joann <--for this, cut out enough fabric and sew it on to the hip area and let it drape down a little. also, add a trim to the bottom of the dress to complete the look. Extra: if you don't have blond hair, go get yourself a blond wig to complete the look. (**DISCLAIMER: i never said it would look exactly like the authentic one. but i'm sure people aren't that stupid and they'll get the idea of who you're dressed up as.)

If you don't want to do it yourself, you can always go on Spirit Halloween and find them there.

Chris Brown - feat. Drake, Kanye West, Fabolous, T.I., Rick Ross, & Andre 3000 - Deuces remix

I have to say I think this Deuces remix > Christian Dior Denim Flow. My opinion. My favorite bars have got to come from Ye... OR Andre 3000. A total toss up between the two for me. The other fellas on the track DID hold their own. Def feelin' this remix!
