Polyester - Homegyrl
Here's s song for all the "homegyrls" who stay down with their "homeboys" lol This talented producer, who also does his rap thing, dropped this song yesterday. It's off his upcoming solo project called Hellagood Presents: Polyester The Saint. He talks about the friend who's always there for him, through all the bullsh!t, who fights with him through all the struggles, who have love each other without having that kinda love... a "homegyrl".

Super Mario Brothers on Violin
Out of all places, I heard of this video on Filipino news. lol I thought it was really entertaining since the violinist got the music and sound effects down.
This one's another one where he plays along with Super Mario Bros 3.

Pau Gasol Singing for Charity
Pau Gasol, aka My Beast, is apparently getting his singing on. He hit a North Hollywood recording studio a few days ago to record a song called, "Get It Together". Before you judge him, let it be known this is for UNICEF. So leave him alone.. even though he looks like the BIGGEST DORK (literally and figuratively) in the video below. lol
Click here to see Gasol record his solo.
BONUS: while I was looking for this video, I stumbled across this. Don't ask me what it's for. I just thought I'd like to share it. haha
Anti-Rape Condom For Women (With Teeth)
According to cnn.com a South African doctor invented a way for "protecting" women from getting raped. The rape-aXe was forty years in the making when she treated a traumatized woman who said to her, "If only I had teeth down there."
"The woman inserts the latex condom like a tampon. Jagged rows of teeth-like hooks line its inside and attach on a man's penis during penetration, Ehlers said.Once it lodges, only a doctor can remove it -- a procedure Ehlers hopes will be done with authorities on standby to make an arrest.
"It hurts, he cannot pee and walk when it's on," she said. "If he tries to remove it, it will clasp even tighter... however, it doesn't break the skin, and there's no danger of fluid exposure."
I'm not sure what to think of this anti-rape device. It may help when you want to escape from the rapist, but you were still taken advantage of. Watch the video to get the pros and cons of the Rape-aXe.
Brian Austin Green & Megan Fox Married
Congrats to the happy couple. And sorry fellas; she's officially off the market. Time to go back to reality and stop thinking you ever had a chance against Brian Austin Green. lol
homage.
i often read & hear how DOM respects & wants to work with Quik so i'm sure DOM will never forget the feelin' of havin' to open for DJ Quik, one of the greatest west coast rappers (i speak for Mikee & myself when i say the greatest) & bein' on the same stage as him.
i'm kinda salty i didn't go to this show, for one because Dom opened but second because if you should know somethin' about Quik is that he puts ON at shows!

she needs me remix.
okay, i'm a week late BUUUUT i had to put in my two cents on this remix.
now, the original "She Needs Me" is one of my favorite tracks from Kendrick but this remix is eeeehhh.
now we all know how much i love me some DOM & i think everythin' he jumps on, he's always on point but for some reason, this one fell short to me.
i listened to this song about 7 times in a row (a little advice i got from Mikee lol) & although i don't hate it, i can't get into it like the original one.
take a listen & see what you think!

Rob Roy - Power remix
If you aren't familiar with Rob Roy, with the start of his first verse you, you may just click stop and not give the rest of the song a chance. Rob is one crazy muthasucka who can spit. To do a remix to "Power" takes some balls 'cuz it's one isane beat. So it would only be right for this crazy muthasucka to remix on this insane track. Listen to the "Power" remix in its entirety... siiick!

Chris Brown on BET Awards 2010
My sister and I believe that it was a sincere cry. I mean, come on, he did an ugly cry. Anyway, we don't think he's crying because of his woman beating, but because he felt people were finally accepting him again. Last year he was supposed perform for the MJ tribute, but no one wanted him *or more like Jay-Z threatened BET to not let him be a part of it* so I guess this is why he got so emotional. Personally, I also think he cried because he finally was given a chance to pay tribute to his idol. We can all say he's been forever tainted with that scandal, but you can't deny his talent.
Here's the video if you didn't catch it... or if you just want to see him cry again. lol

Never Can Say Goodbye
Download this mix Just-N-Credible and Nick The Intern, from Power 106, made last year in remembrance to MJ.
Also, if you need a good laugh, you can watch this video of my sister and me making fools of ourselves singing "I Just Can't Stop Loving You". This was last year on Thanksgiving. I hope my sister doesn't get mad at me for posting this. lol. If you've seen "Michael Jackson: Live in Bucharest", the HBO special, then you can say we're probably guilty of watching it constantly. I kinda got his mannerisms down. ;b This was truly for fun, so don't judge us. haha!
Kendrick Lamar feat. U-N-I, Skeme, & Brown - I Do This (remix)
"the homies say i'm the truest, the bitches think i'm the cutest, the definition what cool is, boy i thought you knew this, bitch i do this"
GREAT remix! Didn't know how i was gonna like this 'cuz the original was my sh!t. For a good month, I'd bump it while getting ready to go out for the night. With this remix sounding hella dope, it'll be the song i listen while i get ready once again :) The boys featured on the remix did their thing. Fave verse outta the guys featured... King Thurz!

PowerHouse 2010
My shawwty and my seats weren't the best, but hey, they were free so I wasn't complaining. lol. The show started off with Cali Swag District, Mike Posner, and YG performing their singles. I was excited to see Mike Posner on stage because I'd been a fan since I saw him at The Roxy last year.
After them DJ Mando Fresko came out to introduce Jason Derulo. I thought it was only fitting for him to introduce him because of this. haha. I thought Jason Derulo did a pretty good job considering I'm not so much of a fan of his music. After, was B.O.B. I remember tweeting after his set saying I know why my sister fell in love with him after seeing him live. You don't want to take your eyes off of him when he's on stage. He only did 4 songs, but he made sure to leave an impression. Playboy Tre and Bruno Mars came out with him. I think fell in love with Bruno Mars' voice that night xD After B.O.B, Big Boy's neighborhood (Big Boy, DJ Eman, Jeff G, and Liz Hernandez) came up to introduce the first surprise of the night who was Golden Boy, Oscar de la Hoya, but he was QUICKLY overshadowed when he brought up Ron Artest on stage. Since he was still on his championship high, he performed his single, "Champions". You can find it on my youtube page here.
Next was Baby Bash. I thought he seemed to have been out of place in this line-up, but I was proved wrong by all the fans that were there... especially in my section. I even surprised myself. I caught myself singing all the songs he performed that night. lol. Then out of nowhere, he brought up New Boyz. Why? I don't know why. They don't mesh well in my mind, but he brought them up anyway and they sang "Tie Me Down". He also brought up Iyaz; again, it was really random. He sang "Replay". When he finished, my shawwty and I were taken aback when we saw Danny Trejo lifting up his shirt and walked off stage. lmao
Then came the good part. Yesi Ortiz and Liz Hernandez introduced Trey Songz onto the stage. He knows he can make a girl feel weak in the knees just by standing still. He was definitely teasing all the chicks (and possibly some men) in the audience throughout his set. I almost felt embarrassed to be watching him "explain" how "Neighbors Know My Name" came about with my shawwty next to me. lmfao, but DAYYYUUUMMM! just watch the video so you know what I mean. I would definitely DEFINITELY see him in concert again. In between sets, Big Boy brought up Derek Fisher on stage and the crowd went nuts! He had no single out, so he was only there for a little bit show his face and give everyone a big thank you for the support. haha
Up next was Drake. I was happy to have seen him in concert last year in May at CSULA and from then to now, his stage presence has improved soo much! I'm not gonna say he made me feel like he was performing directly at me like how someone told him in his documentary, but he was really giving it his all on that stage. But I swear, I still see him as Jimmy from Degrassi. When he talks, I hear and see Jimmy Brooks BEFORE he shaved off his funky ass 'fro and was "wheelchair Jimmy". haha. Majority of the songs he did were verses he had on other songs and some songs off his mixtapes. Right before he performed his last song "Over", he brought up none other than The Black Mamba, Mr. MVP himself, number 24, Kobe Bryant! Kobe was literally only on stage for five seconds, but everyone in the venue were up on their feet giving him a standing ovation.
During the day, people were tweeting how there was going to be a surprise set that night. DJ Eric Dlux went on stage and introduced him as the "man with many names", but still didn't say exactly who it was. My guess was Diddy. Lo and behold it WAS Diddy. There were definitely some mixed emotions in my section. I heard a few "boos" when he came on stage, but he kept reassuring us Californians that the WEST SIDE vs. East Side beef is over. Regardless of that, I was half assed rapping along (because I didn't know all the words. lol) with his songs like "I Need A Girl pt. 2" and "Mo' Money, Mo' Problems". Afterward, Ne-Yo came on stage. What can I say about him? He oozes talent. I remember seeing him in concert at CSUN back in '07. Unfortunately, unwanted memories go along with Ne-Yo which is a shame because I think this man is genius. He's a great singer, dancer, songwriter. He's Ne-Yo.
Last up to close the show was Snoop Dogg. Snoop is Snoop. He performed his hits like "Gin & Juice" and "Nothing But A G Thang". I swear, though, right when he hit the stage, all the blunts that people snuck in were lit up in my section. I seriously think I had a contact high from all the weed that was pretty much blown in my face. I think half of my excitement, aside from seeing him perform live for the first time in my life, was being able to see him perform with that special mic of his. haha It also seemed like half of the entertainment came from his outfit/jumpsuit/footsie pajamas. lol. Snoop also had his family up on stage with him throughout his set. IT was cute, cuz you could hear his mom (I think) singing along to the hooks. He also had Kurput and Warren G up with him to do "Ain't No Fun".
All in all, this concert has to be one of my top 5 favorite concerts I've ever been to. Doesn't matter what seat you're in; as long as you're having a real good time and the performer(s) reeling you in, then that deserves top ranking in my book. If you want to see better pictures from that night, go here to check it out.
Superb End of Season Sale
Summer Pop Medley
A friend of mine posted this video on facebook and I thought it was worth sharing. It's a medley of "OMG", "Airplanes", "California Gurls", "Your Love Is My Drug", and "Alejandro". The singer and guitarist look kind of like dorks while performing it, so just listen to it and don't watch the video lol.
Avriel - Bouncer
Confession time. I knew Avriel sang, but I never listened to her music. I knew her as a fellow Kennedy student (just like all the members of DixAndChix) who was the voice of Timberly on "Hey Arnold" and modeled for some elite designers. All I can say about her after hearing her latest song "Bouncer" - featured on Cook's Classics album Recharged - is she has some MAJOR TALENT! The song is perfect for summer time. Don't sleep on her. Along with her beauty, she has the musical chops to prove it (she produces her own music, writes her own songs, and plays several instruments). Download the song here.
For more about Avriel: facebook, myspace, twitter.
Wiz Khalifa - Mezmorized
My favorite tatted up, lanky, weed smokin', black boy has given us yet another music video for a song off of Kush & Orange Juice. I'm not complainin', keep 'em comin' Wiz! :) This is my favorite song off that tape.
Freddie Gibbs feat. BJ The Chicago Kid - My Way Home
I personally haven't heard anything new from Freddie Gibbs for a while, so to hear this was real cool. Then to have BJ The Chicago Kid on the track was nice to hear.

Fashawn - Ode to Illmatic
- "The World Is Yours"
I had mentioned this mixtape in a previous blog, but i haven't posted the link yet. With much comparison to Nas, Fashawn decided what other way to pay homage to Nas by creating a mixtape dedicated to one of hip hop's greatest albums, Illmatic. Seems to me that the music that Fash creates and puts out for his fans is nothing, but filled with good sh*t. All the songs on this mixtape are worth listening to, nothing to press skip to. My fave song is "Memory Lane (Sitting in the Park)" and "Life's A Bith".

NBA 2010 Champions: LAKERS!!!
Where do I begin!?! ohh yeah, LAKERS BAYYBEE!!! ;D Game 7 was definitely a difficult game to watch. The first half was complete sh*t! Where were the Lakers that were playing in game six. No defense, sloppy plays, and bad shots by Bryant. Simple free throws weren't being made, which pissed off me and everyone at the house that was watching. I was also disappointed in how my sister's beast, Gasol, was playing in the first half... like where the eff are you!?! The Celtics were up for the most of the first half. Halftime came along and i seriously set some time off to pray just a little bit. Asked God to help the Lakers actually sink the shots lol The second half started... i was still scared to watch. The major players, Gasol, Bryant, and Fisher were back in the game, playing like they meant it. I don't know where their minds were at during the first half, but as long as it came back, I was happy about it! It was a slow come up, BUT we did it. The Lakers FINALLY lead the Celtics with a big enough lead to make the hearts of L.A. calm down just a lil bit. When Ray Allen was at the line sometime during the 2nd half i was SHOCKED to see him miss his first free throw. From that missed shot, I think the rest of L.A. knew this title was gonna be ours. My favorite player of the night was DEFINITELY, Mr. QUEENSBRIDGE himself, Ron Artest! He stepped up major! With 5 steals and that magical 3 pointer when Kobe passed him the ball, showed me "hey, maybe i should actually like this guy" cuz truth be told, i hated Artest from the start. But after watching last night's game, seeing how HE was the one on the team that stepped up, and watching his after game interview, i'm growing to like this cat lol btw, his single is coming out soon! LMFAO! With all that said, i'd lie to say big ups to the Celtics for keeping up with the Lakers. This series was a great one to witness. Celtics put up a great fight, but in the end the true champs shined through!
Artest's interview after the game HAHAHAHAHAA!!!

He made it...
June 14, 2010
Evidence is a man who reps Venice beach hard in everything he does. He was a part of the group Dilated Peoples . Aside from the group's success, Evidence has accomplished so much. Not only is he a rapper, he's also a producer. He's produced music for Planet Aisa, Linkin Park, and the Beastie Boys just to name a few. Not to mention, he's earned a Grammy for co-production on Kanye West's album College Dropout. In 2007, he came out with his first solo project called The Weatherman LP. Then in 2008 he released The Layover LP. He now has another album coming out soon titled Cats & Dogs.
My Monday... started off by going to class, then went back home. Nothing out of the ordinary. I knew Grafik and Fashawn were gonna be in town, but I didn't think anything of it. Main thing is I got to Pasadena, where they were posted for their stay here and picked them up. We grabbed some Chipotle for lunch, then headed to L.A. soon after. The car ride there was pretty interesting. I was driving and thought to myself "Do i change the music!?!" lol i mean, how oftendo i have one of the freshmen for 2010 riding in my car haha Then Fash asked "Do you have any instrumentals?" Yeaahhh, 'cuz I sit in my car spitting bars for days o_O lol But now i know to always have instrumentals in my car lol We were stuck in non other than (drumroll please) L.A. traffic! On the way to L.A., I turned down my stereo while Fash turned up his iphone. Graf was freestyling, Fash was freestyling... Did I!?! Of course not, they weren't ready for my bars ;) HAHAHA We finally reached L.A. where Evidence's lab is at. Dropped Fash off, while me and Grafik looked for parking, how I love finding parking in L.A. -_-, but it wasn't too bad. We walked in toward the end of Evidence Ustreaming, so if you caught an asian girl throwin' up the duces, that was me. As I sat down, Evidence and fashawn were tryna think of where to get some weed, cuz Fash soon found out the one spot near the lab was shut down haha Getting past that, Evidence played some new beats and new songs that I'm guessing will be on Cats & Dogs. I will admit that I'm not an avid listener of Evidence's, but prior to this i have listened to a few of his songs. Then being able to hear the new stuff that hasn't come out yet, i told myself i NEED to catch up on Evidence's work quick! As he played track after track, he and Fash would talk about this and that and so on and so forth. Then I caught myself thinking "DAMN! i'm in the same room as Fashawn and Evidence listening to music that isn't even out yet or might not even make it out. How many people would wanna be in my position!? I'm one lucky chick!" I just soaked everything in; from the conversing that was going on to the music that was being played. There was also quick talk about how there are some girls that are good for you and some girls that are bad for you. I found out how they feel about certain artists in the game to eagerly anticipating a video Evidence wanted to show us. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch the video, now I have to anticipate a little bit longer. Evidence said he was gonna put it out in a week or two, so be on the look out for that. All three guys were nice as fu*k! So I soaked up all that I could, sometimes catching myself sitting in awe thinking "Damn, what am i doing here!?" lol I was lucky enough to have them freestyling in my car and sit in the lab listening to good new music. With that being said, my Monday didn't turn out to be quite so ordinary.
