Freddie Gibbs' latest mixtape (which I have yet to listen to) features people like Bun B, Planet Asia, Jay Rock, and more. When I first saw him at The Roxy, I was honestly afraid of him because he was so tall and smoing out on stage like no one was watching, but aside from that, I was impressed. Us chix walked in during the end of El Prez' set. So let's all give Camille a round of applause for NOT leaving her class early enough haha This JBC event was just that, COOL. From watching the performances to the mingling the chix did after the show LOL. While being good citizens after the show, i'm sure we'll be blessed ;)Here's some footage and pictures from that night.

the first show we saw cARTer in, we looked at each other like 'wtf' but we came to realize that we should look past his bball shorts & jean jacket & fuck with his music.
& as for Dom. Kennedy, that's obvious, didn't you see my open letter?!?!?! ;)

not featured on the flyer but i read would be there to perform are El Prez & Ayomari. i'm excited to catch Ayomari & see what songs he'll perform from PB&J, which is on heavy rotation in the car.

Freddie Gibbs with the L.A. Leakers

I first caught Freddie Gibbs at a show at The Roxy on Sunset with Shawn Chrystopher, Big Sean, and Mike Posner. On some truthful shit, he scared the fuck outta me! LOL He was up on stage with his "entourage". They were pulling up a drunk skeezy on stage, they were straight smoking a joint, and Gibbs was saying each word of his songs with so much passion... either that or he was that high hahaha. BUT as you can see from the freestyle he spit on The Takeover with the L.A. Leakers, this playa spits FIYAAAHH!!! Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, he faced MANY struggles. He got into college, but was then kicked out. He joined the military, then got discharged. After other failed attempts at holding down jobs, he turned to pimping and selling drugs. Through that, he was always rapping and started making mixtapes. He would push his mixtapes online and on the streets. His music is all about what he experienced growing up. He has since worked with producers such as Just Blaze and the Alchemist, just to name a few. He now works with DJ Skee.
