What is there to say!?! We won... we WILL win ;) round 1 was a bit difficult to watch, but we sent OKC packin'. semi-finals we swept the jazz on their court. and in the finals, we set the sun in phoenix. I really don't know what to say, so check out the highlights of game 6 in Phoenix:
Time for the NBA finals. First game against the Celtics is on Thursday, June 3rd at 6:00 p.m pst on ABC. We're good. We got this! L.A.'s ready for those Boston bitches! lol GOLAKERS!!!
Earlier today Gary Coleman passed away from a brain hemorrhage. He was best known for playing Arnold on Diff'rent Strokes and coining that famous catch phrase I mentioned above. To read more of his story, go here. We all have our opinion about him, but that should be put aside and let him rest in peace.
Engaged couple Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are expecting their first child! Congrats to them. I wouldn't be surprised if this kid will sing instead of cry when it pops out of Miss Keys.
Mike Posner came out with an official music video to "Cooler Than Me (Gigamesh Remix)". Musically, I like this kid a lot, but this isn't my favorite version of the song. I like the original with Big Sean's verse, but I guess some things need to be sacrificed when you want to make it big. Now my critique on the video. I like, but I don't love it. The concept's interesting - seeing different perspectives of the party every time he puts on a new pair of shades - but I can't get over his collar when he's on the rooftop. It bothers the hell out of me =X Anyway, here's his video.
Musician and political activist, M.I.A. sports the cover of the June/July issue of Nylon Magazine and is looking pretty damn good after having a baby last year. In her featured article she talks her unique sound in music to how in her teenage years she would go to LA and hang out with Bloods and Crips. ((Say whaaa?!?))
I don't believe this at all! According to allvoices, this Indonesian boy had his cigarette at only 18 months.. WTF?!?! Here's the article.
At only two years old, Ardi Rizal has become a cigarette addict–smoking nearly 40 cigarettes a day.His mother, Diana, 26, says it all started when his father gave him a cigarette at 18 months. And now, if he doesn’t get a cigarette whenever he demands, he goes into a hysterical tantrum.“He’s totally addicted,” his mother told . “If he doesn’t get cigarettes, he gets angry and screams and batters his head against the wall. He tells me he feels dizzy and sick.”The boy is such an expert smoker, he blows smoke filled rings to amuse his playmates.Officials in Indonesia have offered to buy the family a car if he quits. But the boy’s father doesn’t see a reason to worry. “He looks pretty healthy to me,” he said. “I don’t see the problem.”
Below is video of little Ardi Rizal smoking nonchalant.
With all the leaks from his Thank Me Later album, I say release it already! Don't trip Drake, I won't complain. I've liked all the songs you've leaked so far.
Here's a recent picture of 50. When i first saw this, I gasped and put my hand over my mouth. I couldn't believe it. I heard the rumors of how skinny he got, but I didn't know he looked like that! All this for a movie role... The movie he dropped 54 pounds for is called Things Fall Apart. To read more about the movie & his role click here.
A reversal of roles with Keri being called to duty, while Trey is at home taking care of the child. Like a lil' movie within the music video. I liked it A LOT! watch for yourself.
I first heard this song when I was in Vegas for my birthday back in March. So to see this video set in Vegas brought HELLA memories! Nothing too racy though lol My favorite scene... the shower scene ;) that is all. Now check out the video!
"My shorty always on some bullshit so like Chicago so I flip that middle finger and the index finger follow. Dueces..."
This is off Chris Brown and Tyga's Fan of a Fan mixtape. We all know Chris Brown is forever branded "the woman beater", but you can't let that affect your thought about how talented this guy really is. And with Tyga, well Tyga's one of the few I only really like from Young Money, but he needs to work on his grammar. Someone please tell him it's ValentiNe, not valentiMe. lol
I like T.I. and I like Keri Hilson, so put them together, you get a hit song. I have nothing too bad to say about this. It's catchy, cute, and easy to like.
"Sometime's I feel like there's a party going on in my head. I talk through music and sounds... So much great music out, i hope you enjoy this." -Just.N.Credible
Here's a mixtape full of good music. Some artists you can find on this mixtape are Usher, Miguel, Far East Movement, Trey Songz, and U-N-I just to name a few. He also threw in (what will be California's summertime anthem) "California Gurls" by Katy Perry. Download this mixtape, bump it in your car, get the party started in your head, then once you reach the party you're already set!
Drake's anticipated debut album, Thank Me Later's tracklist came out a couple weeks ago. The members of dixandchix loved his past mixtapes so we hope he doesn't disappoint us with this album.

Another celebrity who decided to cut her hair short. Miss Janet Jackson premiered her new short 'do at the London premiere of Why Did I Get Married Too? and she looks absolutely amazing!
that's it... i LOVE this lanky ass, tatted up, weed smokin' black boy! Yeah, i'm declaring my love for him! HAHAHA But on some real sh*t, i love almost everything he does. He puts out mixtapes and albums that have ill music on 'em. Though i have to admit, I hated the Burn After Rolling mixtape. I know he's not the cutest guy out there, but there's something about him. It's probably his music, 'cuz ever since i first downloaded Flight School, i was addicted.
Here's the official music video for "The Statement" off of Kush and Orange Juice. It was directed by Alex Nazari, who also directed the Tyga & Chris Brown "G Shit" music video. You can catch Wiz in the car with DJ Ill Will. idk what it is about Wiz Khalifa that i love, so watch the video and if you figure it out, let me know lol
I'll always know Stacey Dash as Dionne from the movie Clueless. That was YEARS ago... take a look at her now! She's in her 40's, but DAMNNN she's lookin' good!
Check out Drake on the cover of Billboard magazine... Eehh. I don't like it. Behind this one bad picture is one cutie with a smile to die for :D
If you haven't heard already, Drake was on the show "When I was 17..." on MTV. Thank God he had a friend like Niko to hook him up with a barber! Drake was definitely lookin' a mess back then... Now he just needs to find a new stylist lol If you missed it, check out his segment.
The Hundreds have come out with a line for Summer 2010. Here are some pictures of the clothing, hats, etc. available at the shops in L.A., S.F., and online. To check out more styles & to shop the Hundreds, click here.
The album release party for Revolutions Per Minute by Reflection Eternal (Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek) was..... Hotter than a muthaf*cka! Figuratively and literally. There were sooo many people inside the lounge, it was insane! And on some truthful shit, they needed to turn up the a/c in that beeetch earlier, cuz it was HOT! I got a lil' sweaty up in there, which lead my hair to turning into a mess : no lie and i know for sure other people were sweating up a storm! hahaha Regardless of the heat, it was a fun night. If you weren't there you definitely take an L! Some of L.A.'s finest were there Tuesday night. Not only Talib Kewli & Hi-Tek were there, but i ran into U-N-I, Dom Kennedy, Evidence, Krondon, and i saw a few others there that night. Even though i was told that me and my friend, evelyn, were in our "own world" that night we had a lot of fun. Though we may be in our own world, if you come by and say "hi", you'll definitely be welcomed into "our world" lol Here's a video of Reflection Eternal performing "The Blast" and a few pictures from Tuesday night, shot by the homie Boogie.
I've been waiting to see this music video for a while already. So when i finally decide to look it up on youtube, i find out it's been out for like a week... The music video is very cute. Him and his "girl" in the video look sooo damn cute together. How i wish to be the girl in the video for 5 seconds lol As for Snoop Dogg, his girl in the video be wearing some hot "fuck me" kinda shoes! =X Anyyywayyy, Robin Thicke seems to make everything he does sooo smooth, seductive, and sexy. Watch the music video for "It's in the Mornin'"...
This mixtape dropped a few days ago and since then i've been giving it a listen. I thought it was just gonna be all rap, hearing a different side of Chris Brown... but it really isn't. He still holds down the r&b feel, while Tyga holds down the rap/hip-hop side. I happen to like this mixtape, it's like two different worlds combined... kinda. But you will hear Chris Brown doin' a couple bars, which surprised me cuz he was pretty good =X haha Download Fan of A Fan Mixtape
*sidenote: i heart this player... he's a cutieeee ;)
I don't really listen to French Montana, but since I saw that Wiz Khalifa was in this music video, i decided to watch it :) Yeah, that fine, skinny, tatted up, black boy (otherwise known as my favorite tatted boy) is the only reason why I watched it haha Music video is cool, just watching the guys in the studio...
"just a couple names you should fear, nowhere near tired, but had a good year"
This trailer has me excited for this music video. It seems to be more like a movie than a music video. The beautiful Keri Hilson will be playing Trey Songz' wife... Seems like we'll be watching a roller coaster of emotions in the official video. Check the trailer for "Yo Side of the Bed"
The video goes through each decade starting from the 60s to now. From what I get, it shows how being in an interracial relationship is hard to be in even in present time. Overall, I like the video except the ending. I hate endings like those. lol I was surprised to see Chad Michael Murray, but he did a great job in the video and not to mention he looked pretty cute in it too. ;)
Shawn Chrys pushed back the release date for this track, but he later promised to premiere it tomorrow.. But the LA Leakers got their hands on it and leaked it a day early because that's what they do! (The untagged version will be out soon.)
It's a little different than what I'm used to from him, but I don't hate it. It took me a few listens to get used to it. I'm slowly starting to like the song.
Here's an interview CNN did not too long ago (again, my bad with the late post) about "his rise to fame, joining the bra and panty tossing club, and his friendship with Lil Wayne." For some reason I'll always see him as Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation, who was in a rock band with Craig, Spinner, & Marco and the guy who couldn't get "it" up when he and Ashley tried to be intimate with each other. lol; but I'm proud of him progressing into this music artist with more success to come. Go get it Aubrey Graham! ;)
A little late on posting the video, but here's Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars' music video to "Billionaire". The video goes along well with the feel good message of the song. Check it out!
Here's the official video for "Samsonite Man" by Fashawn feat. Blu, off of Fash's Boy Meets World album. Poor girl in the video is waiting for her man, Fash, but he's continuously keeping her updated by sending letters and pictures. You get to see the places Fashawn has been. Btw, being the Samsonite Man that he is, he's about to finish up a lil tour he has going on with Wiz Khalifa in Portland, Oregon tonight and Seattle, Washington tomorrow night. Take a look at the video and see where Fash has been :)
Here's another event on May 18th. Talib Kewli and Hi-Tek, Reflection Eternal, will be at Bubble Gum in Blu Monkey Lounge. You can also catch Bubble Gum's resident DJs: Fuzz Fan Tab, SourMilk, and Just.N.Credible there, along with DJ Sean G who will be performing a guest set. If you're interested in going, be sure to RSVP at rsvpbubblegum@gmail.com
Check Asher's latest video for "Muddy Swim Trunks" off of Seared Foie Gras w/ Quince And Cranberry Mixtape. This music video is..... RANDOM lol but it's one hella cool video. what you see about a minute into the video, is something I don't think you'd necessarily see at your local supermarket haha check it out!
Now why haven't i talked about the Lakers recently!?! Our team has been doing great. First round against OKC, was surprising. I mean, why let a team like that win two games? Maybe they were being nice. BUT with the western conference semi-finals against the Jazz, the Lakers showed no mercy... Sweeping them right out of tasting at least one win haha With the Thunder and Jazz out of the way, it's now time to win 4 more games against the Suns. Catch the Western Conference Finals on Monday May 17 on TNT! and as much as i don't want to admit it... it's gonna be LAKERS vs. Celtics for the NBA finals... So sorry Bron Bron, it's the Lakers' job to finish the Celtics :)
Here's a song ShawnChrystopher recently put out through his twitter. Download it it and throw it into your ipod. I'm liking it a lot. He put out this track while we wait for his single, "All Other Kids", to come out... So be on the look out for that...
This is strictly a throwback for just ME and maybe my sister, Camille. I used to LOVE watching classic Disney cartoons and this one has always been my favorite. I watched it again recently and realized how many wrong things there was to this, but I still enjoyed it!
I was SUPER confused after watching this trailer, but my sister and I will for sure be watching this because she has Leonardo DiCaprio to drool over (one of her first loves) and I have Joseph Gordon-Levitt to lust after (liked him ever since 3rd Rock From the Sun). Plus it just looks really good.
This is an unreleased track back in 2007 from Jhene Aiko that featured Drake. I don't know anything about this girl except that she's hecka pretty and she makes it clear that she's Japanese The beat has an oriental feel to it; the song's pretty cute.
Here's the latest video Marz LoveJoy posted on her youtube. How much am i lovin' this chick!?! haha check this video, just a lil message to those female "rappers". take it how you want it...
"And you never did your homework, too busy after school lifting up your skirt"
Here's another event to check out. Bananas is held once every month in Leimert Park. Some names to check out are Slik D, Casey Veggies, and Stevie Crooks. There will be other acts to catch that night.
Here's another event where you can catch the TreeHouse Club performing. So if you're free May 29th, go hit it up and check them out... With this event, you'll run into people all tatted up, as well as body artists behind all the artwork...
If you're a proclaimed hipster, you might wanna go check this event out. Some dudes that'll be there are Michael Nhat, Existereo, Screwtape, and Intuition. And if you're into freestyling yourself and want to show off, hit it up 'cuz there will be an open mic toward the end of the night!
Just thought I'd share what I saw today when I paid a visit to Target. I found Ryan Phillippe on the cover of two magazines, Men's Health and Inked. In men's health he mentions how he still has "complicated feelings" about his divorce with Reese Witherspoon. But amidst all those feelings, there's that fine body to look at! :) Inside of Inked magazine, what do you expect to find? He talks about his tattoos and shows them off. He tells the story about when he got his first tatt at the age of 19.
While looking through the Inked issue, I found this tattoo to be a favorite from the few tatts he has on his body. It is an image of his son's hand gripping Ryan's grandfather's hand...
Here's a song for you to download from this one HANDSOME man! Queen Latifah's featured on here... similar to the way Drake was featured on Alicia Keys' track "Unthinkable" lol The song being released coincides with their movie coming out called "Just Wright". You can also find this track on Go! Common Classics droppin' May 25th. I'm liking the song, take a listen to see if it pleases your ears :)
Drake's latest single finally has a video - or more like a mini-movie - to go along with it. When I was watching it, I flashbacked to when he got shot by Ricky in Degrassi. It had me screaming out, "Jimmy nooooo!!" haha. There's some obvious attraction between him and Maliah Michel, which probably plays off the rumor of them actually dating. Check it out for yourself.
"Why don't you love when I make me so damn easy to love?"
This song was co-written by her younger "hot mess" sister, Solange (she's another story I don't want to get into). It sounds different than what B would usually come out with. I'm not mad though. The video's really good. I had a moment in my life where I was all for looking like a greaser/pin-up girl so I LOVE the vintage, pin-up, Betty Page feel of it. lol
P.S. I like how she shows off all the well earned grammys she's won throughout her career, in the video . work it!
This is one of my favorite songs off his Rebel With Applausemixtape (we posted earlier last month). I just had to share this video because it made the song that much better. lol
Saw this over at watdadickens.blogspot.com. I like the song, so hearing it acoustically, just made me like it more. The single's off Travie's upcoming solo debut album, Lazarus, out June 8. BJ (Yes That BJ) of watdadickens was nice enough to rip the audio.
Rob Roy tweeted late last night that his King Warrior Magician Loveralbum has come out with a free download.
You've probably heard his song "Fur In My Cap" in an episode of Entourage. His music is definitely something different, but the dixandchix crew like it.
I wish i can find the tweetDom Kennedysaid about Rob Roy because it really describes what a lot of us think about him. If I remember it was something like "I don't know if Rob Roy's pure genius or completely crazy." lol
How great is it to see the handsome T.I. back in a music video? just sayin' ;) So I have my own reasons as to why I'm posting this video up today... I would post a video by Lupe Fiasco, BUT all his videos are disabled :/ ohh well... This video with B.O.B is FRESH & CLEAN! the white space in the back is GREAT for the contrast of the vibrant colors used all throughout the video. Then the graphics in the video set it off. I liked it all. Check out the video for "Bet I" for yourself.
A friend of mine first put me up on Emilio Rojas' video when he had tweeted it about the time it came out. Within that short time, I've probably watched this video about 10 to 15 times. Why? well, there's nothing special to it... SIMPLICITY is the keyword. To top it off, his lyrics are passionate, he goes hard when he says 'em! There are only like 3 scenes in the music video. 1. Writing the letter. 2. Phone call. and 3. Him "reading" the letter. The video was directed by Court Dunn.
This video is more disturbing than sexy. I watched it for the first time on Friday and was thinking "WTF is she thinking!?!" I feel like she's taking a huge step backwards with this music video. Many say she's going for that Lady Gaga look and feel, which i kind of agree with. Is she trying to reinvent herself AGAIN? This video reminded me of when she came out with Dirty (during her Stripped album), trying to kill her bubblegum pop image she had with the whole Genie in a Bottle (during her first album). She then cleaned up that whole "dirty" image when she came out with her Back To Basics album. Why didn't she stick to that? i feel like she's trying extremely hard to be sexy in this music video. She's beautiful, she doesn't have to try that hard. I mean take a look at Ciara's latest music video. She didn't bullshit and bring other girls to make her sexy, she did her. I'm just disappointed in Christina Aguilara's music video. I hope she comes out with something like Back to the Basics again... smh...
So this mixatape has been out since January 1st, BUT i'll admit it, I just pushed play to listen to this mixtape about the start of April. And since then, it's been on heavy rotation in my room when i get ready for school and when i get ready to go out. Safe to say, Nova and I have a thing going on lol On some truthful shit though, this mixtape is just FUN! There are songs dedicated to girls and other songs dedicated to that one special girl in a lot of guys' lives, Mary Jane haha Then there are songs you just wanna put on blast in your car and other songs you just wanna dance to. I, personally, have been starting my mornings out with "X-Files" (my favorite song off this tape). Download the mix and find yourself a song by Overdoz to start your morning off to.
So who is BEeFF you may ask? Well, it's a duo consisting of these two guys that go by the names of Bertran and Evan. They came up with the idea of this lil duo about a year ago. Both of them weren't always in the forefont when it came to rapping. Bertran was more into making/producing beats, but about last year was when he started getting into rapping. In fact, this project was more of a way for Bertran to show off his beats. Evan, on the other hand, was more into the business side of music. He was just doing the rapping for fun, but got pretty good at it. On this first project of their's you can find a couple industry beats, but for the most part, most of the songs on this mixtape are produced, mixed, and mastered by Bertran. A familiar name you may find on this tape is Mann on track called "Better". That isn't necessarily my favorite song off this tape though, "Chop Me, Screw You" is lol Check out all the tracks for yourself and you be the judge :)
"This is our first project so we're really just trying to get our feet wet and figure out what's good with putting out music on the internet, I hope you enjoy it!" -Bertran
wow im surprised chris brown went hard on this! Record from their upcoming mixtape, Fan Of Fan. The director of this music video is Alex Nazari. The whole concept of the video reminds me of 2pac - I Get Around video. dope! check it out! Tyga Ft. Chris Brown - G Shit
