The chix happen to find Mr. Polygon's music quite appealing. Some may not like his style of music, but the chix on this blog think otherwise. Download Johnny Polygon's Wolf in Cheap Clothing and check his sound for yourself.
A couple weeks ago, Johnny Polygon and Orisue dropped this mixtape to pretty much catch up with his music before he drops his next project, The Wolf in Cheap Clothing EP, dropping December 15th. It features some unrealeased tracks also. So do yourself a favor, and download "The Catch Up" and be on the lookout for his next one in a few weeks! Below is the tracklist.
If you're not doing anything on September 23, then head over to the Whiskey-A-Go-Go to see Johnny Polygon, El Prez, Shawn Chrystopher, and more perform. It's an all ages show (which I'm not too fond about, but i'll get over it) and it'll be hosted by The Los Angeles Leakers.
Some of the members Dix&Chix will be in attendance, so we'll see you there! :)
This is one of my favorite songs off his Rebel With Applausemixtape (we posted earlier last month). I just had to share this video because it made the song that much better. lol
If you're free May 2nd, you might want... scratch that, you WANT to check the sounds of Johnny Polygon and The L.A. Leakers at Zanzibar. The event is being hosted by Rev. Jerry Harvey, otherwise known to me, and the rest of the chix on the blog, as FINE ASS MUTHASUCKA... Micah James ;) lol
All frontin' aside, I really don't know much about Johnny Polygon. I first heard his name from a nice young lady by the name of Janice a few weeks ago. Then I noticed he had a show with the 87 Stick Up Kids last Thursday. Before that, he was on The TakeOver with the Leakers last Wednesday. He freestyled over the Black Eyed Peas "Imma Be" on the show and then i listened to the freestyle again when it was put up on youtube. I have to admit, shit is knockin'... So with the question "who is Johnny Polygon?" on my mind, the next thing i did was check to see if he had a music myspace. Check Johnny Polygon's Myspace. From reading his myspace, it tells me he's originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, then headed west to expand his music career. Prior to moving, he did his thing with the underground midwest scene, releasing a few albums. I listened to a few songs he has up on his myspace and a song that had me dancing in my room while getting ready was "Do You Love Me". Soon after i downloaded his latest mixtape Rebel with Applause (worked with DJ Green Lantern) that came out February 2010. The tracks are pretty good and it's a different kind of hip hop. A song that stood out to me, maybe just cuz i'm a BIG Saved By The Bell fan, was "That's What Girls Do". Download Rebel with Applause if you haven't done so already.
