I was introduced to Grafik by Fashawn not too long ago. Along with being a nice and easy guy to talk to, I came to find out he was a rapper straight from Fresno. So who is Grafik you may ask? Well, Grafik started recording in studios at the age of 15, but prior to that, as a kid he would freestyle wherever he could. Born and raised in Fresno, CA. he looked up to UGK, TI, Snoop, early Ma$e (he made sure to emphasize early lol), Black Star, Jay-Z, and Biggie, but he really never had any boundaries on what kind of music he would give a shot to. He currently has a mixtape out called Money Ave. with 17 tracks. The free time I do have is pretty much filled with listening to his mixtape :) My fave track is "The Champ". Once you've downloaded his mixtape, I know you'll want more from Grafik. After conversing with Grafik, he told me that he has "...a project with all original music, fresh beats they've never heard." He's talking about his album, The Fever. So be on the look out, but never worry 'cuz this chick will def let you know when it's out :)

What's there to say about this group? The 87 Stick Up Kids' music is best described as party rap where you just wanna scream, yell, jump, and go crazy. They're reminiscent of a modern day Beastie Boys. They're definitely one group I always look forward to seeing perform because they hype everyone up and they never cease to lose energy even if the crowd is dead (which is RARE!). On top of that, the dixandchix crew have met them personally and they are some of the realest and most down to earth people in the business.

Mann x L.A. Leakers

Last year the Los Angeles Leakers dropped a bunch of mixtapes, with artists such as Dom Kennedy to Candice Pillay and a few others. The Leakers are some talented DJs that know what's good from radio to underground hip-hop. Here's the first mixtape of 2010 from the L.A. Leakers. The artist they worked with this time around is Mann. Vintage Cutz is just the first of three mixtapes Mann and the Leakers are coming out with. Three mixtapes with one artist has got to mean one thing, Mann has got major talent. I'm not gonna act like I know who Mann is and what's good with him, all i know is that he's from L.A. So bullshit aside, i haven't heard of his work before, BUT giving this mixtape a listen, it's safe to say he's gaining a fan.

Kendrick Lamar dropped his latest EP December 31st, 2009. Raised in compton, he proudly reps where he's from. He's been in the game since about 2006. I noticed his buzz on twitter. It seemed as if everyone was tweeting @Kendrick_Lamar, from DJ's, other L.A. based artists, and regular "joe shmoes". I got the chance to download his EP a few days after it dropped. His music reflects who he is and where he comes from. This kid has got A LOT of talent! He's makin' "...a statement with these nouns and verbs..." ("Wanna Be Heard" my fave track). Texas vs. Alabama

If you haven't already heard, Alabama defeated Texas last night in the BSC National Championship game. With a score of 37 to 21.

I was driving around last night and saw a lot of Longhorn supporters. Flags on the cars and people sporting white and orange in the restaurant. Shoot, i would have to say my fam was goin' for the Longhorns too! But with the Tides' Richardson, who's only a freshman, and Ingram scoring those touchdowns the Longhorns were givin' a run for their money! Texas THOUGHT they had a chance by scoring a touchdown in the 4th quarter, BUT Ingram scored Texas' 4th touchdown in the 4th quarter with two minutes left in the game. That may just be one of the reasons why he won the Heisman Trophy last night.

As my night continued on, i noticed all the white and orange disappear. I walked into Q's on Wilshire and saw a rush of white and red. Guess all the Tide fans were there that night. Well, big ups to Alabama for their win last night. They haven't won a title since 1992, so i guess it was well deserved...

I JUST got Trey Songz album, "Ready", for Christmas (thank you to my wonderful sister!). Since then, it's been playing non-stop in my house, in the car, and everywhere else I can play it! The album takes a person through ALL the emotions a relationship can have. From the passionate love making a couple makes to the hurt you feel after you've left someone OR if someone's left you. My personal faves are "One Love" and "Holla If Ya Need Me" (if only this track played out in real life! haha) There are albums out there that make you wanna skip to the next one, but with "Ready" you can sit and let it play over and over and over and... you get the picture. :) So basically, if you don't have it... you NEED it! TRUST ;D

I'm sure many of us have already seen the "I Invented Sex" video and have been waiting to see the second half of it. Well here it is, the "Say Ahh" video. Not as sexy as "I Invented Sex", but what can beat ice and a half naked Trey Songz!?!? lol

Apparently someone threw their wallet at Kid Cudi and he tried to return it. Everyone in the front claimed that the wallet was theirs so Cudi gave it to one of the guys. It wasn't really his wallet so he felt bad and decided to return it by throwing it back on stage. Kid Cudi took this offensively and jumped off the stage to punch him in the face!
