Let's take it back to snack time and/or lunch time in elementary school. DunkAroos were kind of underrated at my school, but I thought they were the business, especially the vanilla dip with rainbow sprinkles! lol

on february 18th, exactly a year when Stevie Crooks dropped 'Diamons & Guns' - he drops 'The WINE'

first off, the artwork on the project is so creative with the James Bond theme & fittin' so appropriate with Stevie & his Crooklyn world which then leads to the actual songs that also follow the cover & goes for that James Bond theme. Much credit goes to the production team because this project goes from track to track so effortless.

some artist will put out a mixtape for you to download & call it a day. Stevie & his team always does an amazing job of always having a conceptual theme - from his promo shots dressed quite dapper to the video teaser he dropped earlier to match his theme. everythin' was done with a concept in mind & it payed off.

Yonas - Fall Back

I can't get enough of this guy. Every new song he comes out with, I like love! This song is no exception. It almost annoys me that he's so good. Lyrically, I can't find anything bad about him. He's just that good. The song talks about how even though he is making his way up, he still feels like he's on the brink of falling back. Anyway, this is a song that will off his future project The Proven Theory due out some time in Spring.

Ro Blvd - DooDooBrown ft. Nash of 87 Stick Up Kids

L.A. producer (U-N-I's A Love Supreme), Ro Blvd, is dropping a mixtape called Produc Placer 6: Shenanigans on Feb. 28. "DooDooBrown" is the first leak off of it which features Nash of The 87 Stick Up Kids. What can I say? Ro's beats are always fire and Nash may be white, but he can rap better than you lol..

Bruno Mars, Wiz Khalifa, B.o.B Vibe Magazine

My favorite little Puerto Rican/Filipino singer and my sister's favorite tatted up, skinny, lanky, weed smoker along with B.o.B. on the same cover? That's cute lol... Anyway, these three talents grace (or mean mug) the cover of Vibe's Feb/March issue on newsstands Feb. 22. As you can tell there's a "Black & Yellow" theme going on. I dig it.

*sidenote: there was some OBVIOUS photoshopping that happened here cuz we all know Wiz is 6'3" while Bruno Mars barely hits 5'2"... just saying.

A performance heard around the world...

This performance definitely created a buzz on my timeline last night. It stated with much of the people from the east coast tweeting about OFWGKTA, then the west coast folk tweeting about OF's performance. I don't personally follow them on the regular, but when I do hear about them, they seem to cause much buzz. Tyler, The Creator and Hodgy Beats straight KILLED their performance on Jimmy Fallon last night. So much so, that "OF" was a trending topic on Twitter... worldwide! Like Tyler, The Creator's latest visual project, this performance was oddly interesting. OF performed "Sandwiches" on the show last night. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out here!

His V-Day mixtape last year was really good, but this year has the upper hand only because he has Janet Jackson's "Let's Wait Awhile" on here lol.

Last year, Mando Fresko of Power 106 came out with a Velntine's Day mixtape. That mixtape was the super cute, upbeat music that still made you feel the love. Full of classic 90s R&B songs, from Usher to Aaliyah to Musiq Soulhild to KC & JoJo, love will definitely be in the air when you play this with your special someone or a walk down memory lane for the lovely single ladies or men.

i can go on & on about how big of a supporter i am of this kid but i won't.
i will say though if i ever had to gamble ALL my money it would be on kendrick lamar. the movement TopDawgEntertainment is doin' & the quality of music comin' from their camp is refreshin' to hear. btw, BLACK HIPPY for 2011. (& if you don't know what that means, google it. you can thank me later)

anyway, after much delay & lots of twitterin', kendrick came out with Vanity Slave II featurin' Gucci Mane. now at first, i thought to myself why in the HELL would he have crazy ass Gucci Mane on the track. i mean, we're talkin' about the dude that tattoed an ICE CREAM on his cheek. a sigh of relief to find out that Gucci was only on the chorus! but this song came out DOPE!
i love that anyone can relate to this song because in reality we're all vanity slaves.
